Controlling and Over-Doing

Image
Controlling external events is futility because control is but an illusion based on expected results projected by the thinking mind into the future. Concentration on controlling makes it difficult to concentrate on doing the right things to make you live longer. The TAO, which is the wisdom of Lao Tzu , the ancient sage from China, looks upon the world as something to be accepted, and that involves invoking the profound but paradoxical wisdom of “action through inaction”—which is action based on acceptance of nature or the natural turn of events in life. “Whenever we try to control, we separate ourselves from our true nature. Man proposes; the Creator disposes. Life is sacred: it flows exactly as it should. Trusting in the Creator, we return to our breathing, natural and spontaneous, without conscious control. In the same manner: sometimes we have more, sometimes we have less; sometimes we exert ourselves, sometimes we pull back; sometimes we succeed, ...

Patience and Salvation

Penitence is more than just asking God for forgiveness. Penitence is humans showing their “broken spirits” and their “contrite hearts” with their humility to strengthen their resistance against any future temptation to sins, as well as showing their gratitude to God for His gift of mercy. Only the Holy Spirit can help humans overcome their control and dominance of their flesh to receive the eternal life promised by God. The Eternity Eternal life is a quality of life that begins on earth and continues a new life in heaven. “4   We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4 Jesus says: “ Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life . He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life!” ( John 5:24). “Born Again” Death is a reality and a fact of life. Nobody lives forever. But death is the only ...

Road Rage

Anger is one of the most-damaging human emotions.  Anger or rage is an ineffective and inefficient way to resolve any issue or to make any problem in your life go away. Instead of anger, ask God to help you with your negative emotion of anger. Remember: Anger is a disruptive and destructive emotion that may often lead to mental depression, the breakup of a marriage or a love relationship, and, worst, physical violence, if the anger is not properly addressed and controlled. So, how to change your emotion of anger or rage? Take a deep breath, and just feel your anger as you breathe in. Look at your anger in your mind. Then review the situation, and ask yourself one simple question: Can your anger somehow “change” the situation or anything at all, such as solving the problem? Accept that you are now angry, and then slowly breathe it out. If necessary, use your arm like a sword cutting through your feelings of rage, while saying: “I can see my anger: it is as it was!” Don't hold your a...

Adaptability and Resilience

Embracing Life Changes Life is forever changing. A static life is not worth living. Ironically enough, many people resist any change in their lives; they desire consistency and stability. Unfortunately, whether you like it or not, changes are inevitable as you continue to age. The only ways to cope with life changes is adaptability and acceptance. Adaptability is changing the mind's perception of the change you confront, and act or react accordingly to the circumstances. This mental perception requires  awareness , without which actions or reactions may not take place, because often times changes are slow, gradual, and even subtly imperceptible. Awareness means knowing why and how changes are taking place. .“We need a still and composed mind to see things with greater clarity. Because trouble begins in the mind with small and unrelated thoughts. So, we carefully watch the mind to stop any trouble before it begins.” (Chapter 64,  Tao Te Ching ) Acceptance is taking the r...

DEPRESSION AND IMMUNE DISEASES

MY MYASTHENIA GRAVIS All About . . . . Myasthenia gravis  is one of the many autoimmune diseases, which, according to contemporary Western medicine, offer no known cure, except controlling or suppressing their many disease symptoms. This book is based on the author's own experience of battling against his  myasthenia gravis : how he stopped all his medications through a holistic approach to controlling and managing the disease. This book provides insight and well-researched information that he would like to share with those who are afflicted with  myasthenia gravis  or any other autoimmune disease. Albert Einstein  once said: "There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle." Believe in the miracle of self-healing. Healing comes only from within, and not from any external source. Every individual should avail every opportunity to initiate the self-healing process, which is innate in the human...

LIVING BY FAITH IN REAL LIFE

Living By Faith      A 10-year-old boy shot and killed his mother on November 21, 2022. The boy allegedly claimed that he took the gun from his mother’s bedroom down to the basement, where his mother was doing her laundry. Initially, he claimed that he was twirling the gun around his fingers when it went off and “accidentally” killed his mother.      But, according to  The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel , the boy later confessed that he carried out the heinous act out of his irrational anger after his mother refused to buy him a VR headset. Members of his family further revealed the 10-year-old boy’s many previous episodes of erratic anger and rage issues, such as setting fire at home and causing explosion when his demands were rejected by his mother.      Even while being interrogated by the FBI, the boy surprisingly asked if his VR headset had arrived or not—the one that he ordered from Amazon the day after killing his mo...

Do You Trust God?

The testament of your faith is your "trust" and "obedience." Knowing about faith is just the beginning of your belief, and it must be followed by acting in faith with trust and obedience .       God gives everyone a gift—which is your deep understanding of what to ask, where to seek, and when to knock. This gift is also your “freedom of will.” But it comes with a price: you must follow His commandments. That is, you must also show your trust , and obedience to God through your faith .         If you truly believe in God and in His presence, then you must trust and obey Him. Trusting and obeying God is never easy because you’re human  with many human flaws and shortcomings innate in your flesh .       Trusting God also means giving up your control of the happenings in your daily life, as well as your freedom to choose whatever you want to do.      Like everybody else, you’re controll...
